A major new scientific report from the United Nations says we're officially in a do-or-die, last-chance moment to combat climate change before it's too late.

Another interesting thing about that report? The scientists make clear that the fossil fuel industry’s decades-long influence campaign to stop action on climate is one of the major factors pushing the planet to the brink.

The technologies and policies we need to tackle the climate crisis exist. But the fossil fuel industry has only tightened its grip on the Republican Party as the need to put those solutions in place grows more urgent. The problem is more political than technological.

So where do we go from here? We defend our Senate majority at all costs. Delivering control back to Mitch McConnell means delivering control back to the fossil fuel industry – and as this latest UN report makes clear, we don't have time to take any steps backward.
