Dear AFGE Activist,
There’s still room to enroll in these free springtime Field Services and Education webinars:
Thursday, April 28 from 3:00pm-5:00pm Eastern: Mental Health Awareness Training
We’re glad to be continuing our Mental Health Awareness training with Kaiser Permanente. This interactive workshop is ideal for stewards, local leaders and members looking for ways to support members and co-workers. It is intended to raise awareness of mental health conditions and create a stigma-free workplace. The skills we learn in this class can help us cope with the challenges of our new normal and provide methods to support our members and coworkers who may be struggling at work and at home.
Wednesday, May 4 from 1:00pm-5:00pm Eastern: NOW Bargaining Basics
An introductory webinar for members who are likely to be involved in collective bargaining at their local or council, this webinar discusses what can and cannot be bargained over under federal law, “good faith” bargaining, use of official time, information requests, and how to access additional relevant resources.
Friday, May 6 from 10:00am-5:00pm Eastern: NOW Strategic Bargaining
This advanced bargaining skills class is for those already experienced in collective bargaining (or those who have completed the Basics webinar). This course explores how to determine the best bargaining strategy for your situation, implementing a strategic bargaining plan, and effective strategies for educating members and gaining their support.
Please note: all webinars are held in Eastern Time. If you have not done so already, you must create a login for Labor Lab in order to register and attend FSED webinars.
