[1]Cheri Beasley for North Carolina

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation earlier this month was a thrilling and historic moment.

But this New York Times headline was a stark reminder of the reality of the U.S. Senate today:

[NYT Headline: Harris presided as Jackson was confirmed, but no Black women had a vote.]

We can change that in November. Pitch in $3 today to help us elect Cheri Beasley as North Carolina’s first Black senator and only the third Black woman ever elected to the Senate. It is going to take all of us to pull off this historic victory.

Diversity is often touted as one of our nation’s greatest strengths, but as it stands today, the United States Senate does not reflect the diversity of our nation.

There are only 24 women in the Senate — and zero Black women.

But we know we get better policy outcomes when the people writing our laws understand the challenges facing our families and reflect the diversity of America. It also changes the future all of our children can envision for themselves — teaching them to dream bigger.

That’s the impact we can have when we flip this seat in November. We can make sure Black women have a vote on the next Supreme Court nomination — and ensure Mitch McConnell isn’t allowed to obstruct President Biden’s nominees.

Please make a donation to our people-powered campaign today to send Cheri Beasley to the United States Senate.

Cheri is a trailblazer. She has won statewide in North Carolina twice before, and she was the first Black woman to serve as Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court.

But she’s not done fighting for justice for our state and our families. Together, we can make history and deliver meaningful progress by electing Cheri as North Carolina’s first Black senator.

Thank you,

Team Beasley
