Today, friend, we find ourselves amid an impeachment investigation in which Republicans are silenced and key information is withheld. In no way is this a fair and open process.
The truth is, our president is in as much trouble as ever.
In the Democrats’ minds, he’s already guilty – they’re just searching – yearning – for a crime.
If we sit by and let this kind of behavior become mainstream, we risk allowing the fabric of our democracy to slip away. We need to STAND UP and REJECT the leftist agenda of impeachment. Will you join me by chipping in any amount you can?

No matter what you think about President Donald Trump, what Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Adam Schiff and House Democrats are doing is wrong for our country.
Without a House vote, Ms. Pelosi declared her Democratic Majority has begun an impeachment inquiry and wants to quickly impeach the President by Thanksgiving.
To handle this, Pelosi has bypassed the ineffective Judiciary Committee chair, Jerrold Nadler, and put Schiff, the highly partisan Intelligence Committee chair, in charge.
For three years, House Democrats have tried impeaching President Trump. First it was Russian collusion, then obstruction of justice, then campaign finance law abuses and then violations of the “Emoluments Clause.” In each case, these outrageous accusations turned out to be untrue. Yet Democrats only looked harder for another excuse.
This has hurt America, debased our politics, divided for our country and diminished Washington’s ability to get things done.
Do I wish President Trump hadn’t raised the issue with the Ukrainian president? Yes. Should he have left it to Attorney General Bob Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham to raise what role – if any – Ukrainians played in the 2016 election, including serving as a conduit for the Russian intelligence agencies who hacked Clinton’s emails? Yes.
But really, is it right for Democrats to now call for his removal for office over this?
Ask yourself, would Democrats today be calling for Hillary’s removal from office if she had been elected and then we discovered her campaign hired an ex-British secret agent who called former Russian intelligence agent buddies in Moscow to collect “dirt” on Trump for the so-called “Steele Dossier?” President Trump never did anything like that.
Ask yourself, would Democrats be outraged if a Republican Vice President’s son got $50,000 a month to serve on the board of a shady Ukrainian company while that VP was lecturing Ukraine about corruption, even making a quid pro quo threat that they would be denied U.S. aid unless it took action – aid essential to that nation’s freedom in the face of Russian aggression? I don’t hear Democrats criticizing Biden for doing exactly that.
As someone who served as a district judge, state Supreme Court justice and Texas Attorney General and now sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, I want to know…
- What happened to the presumption of innocence in all this?
- What happened to the precedent that the House must begin impeachment proceedings by voting on a resolution authorizing an inquiry? Pelosi says there won’t be a vote. That’s because of politics: she doesn’t want 43 new Democratic congressmen in previously Republican seats to vote now.
- While Democrats say no one is above the law, why can’t they point to the law they think the President violated?
- What happened to fundamental fairness? In previous House impeachments, Democrats and Republicans alike had the right to call and question witnesses and issue subpoenas. Not now: only six Democratic committee chairmen can.
- What happened to the President’s rights? Lawyers for presidents during previous impeachments sat in on all closed hearings and depositions, received all documents and materials, and could question witnesses and suggest additional ones and react to their testimony. Why not this time?
This is a critical moment for America and as your Senator; I will be called upon to respond after House Democrats have rushed to impeach the President. Already, the Senate Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer, and Liberal interest groups are stepping up efforts to pressure me and use impeachment as a tool to beat me and turn Texas blue.
That won’t work. I believe deeply in the rule of law. I start with the presumption of the President’s innocence. I will defend him against wild rumors, political accusations and the efforts of some Democrats – borne of personal hatred – to overturn his election.
