This resource encourages students to consider the principles and virtues that are at the heart of the United States. Students analyze our three most important founding documents—the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights—in order to understand their main ideas and their relationship to each other as well as their impact on U.S. history and student’s every day lives. Find out more!

Designed for 8^th-9^th graders, but with a differentiated learning approach, this resource can be adjusted for use in lower grades. The differentiation will also be valuable for educators who have ESL students. The resource includes a vocabulary glossary, ample space to summarize small chunks of text to help with comprehension, and shortened versions of primary sources that hold students’ attention while fostering critical thinking.
