Please sign her petition (which you can access here: [link removed]) and drop it off at the Democratic Headquarters OR you can also stop by the office and sign a petition and grab some to share with your friends!
2. Cindy now has 413 followers on her Facebook page. Please like and share the Cindy Gibbs for School Board Facebook page - @gibbs4schools Let’s get 1,000 likes on that page! Plus, that way you can see all the information Cindy shares about her campaign and goals for our school district.
3. Share her campaign website on your social media or in emails to friends and colleagues in Indian River County [link removed]
4. It takes money to run a campaign, especially when you are running against a Republican. Could you host a house party for Cindy? Invite some friends over for some light snacks and drinks and let Cindy speak for a few minutes. Then ask your friends to support Cindy with a donation.
5. If a house party isn’t your thing, you can easily make a donation at [link removed]

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
This week, an 83-year-old Mom’s for Liberty supporter, attacks a lifelong educator and well-respected school board member. We really must begin countering these unfounded, uneducated attacks on public education advocates.
It’s Our Children You Are Indoctrinating
Peggy Jones, Ed. D, member of the Indian River County School Board, wrote a letter April 13 in which she charged those of us actively involved in demanding that public education teach children to read, write, do math and be prepared to contribute to the betterment of society as being “pawns in political mind games and power plays.”
She then went on to list a number of truths about education and educators without backing up any of her “truths” with facts. Mere platitudes.
I was a journalist for 40-plus years. If I presented my editor with a list of “truths” without supporting facts, I would probably be encouraged to look for another job.
Many educators and school board members believe the education of our children needs to be left up to the educators. After all they are the professionals. But when educators and school board members support indoctrinating young children in questioning their gender and shaming them as potential racists because they happen to be born white, parents need to challenge the educational system.
Fifty years ago, educators were among the most educated in our society. That is no longer the case. I have two master’s degrees, one in literature and the other in business. I also was a journalist covering education for three years for McGraw-Hill Publications. Other parents actively challenging Dr. Jones are lawyers, successful business people and former educators, one also with an Ed.D.
The reason members of the school boards are elected is that it allows society to hold educators to educating and not indoctrinating. School boards are society’s watchdogs. They should not be educational lapdogs for educators.
