Dear John,

While working on the 1968 Poor People’s Campaign, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King asked to be remembered as “a drum major for justice”. He is remembered as much more than that, and we are proud to introduce our Digital Drum Majors for Justice program in his honor! As we continue to raise awareness by beating our drums, on the path to the Mass Poor People’s and Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls, we are asking you to use your social media network to let everyone know why you are going to #MeetUsinDC!

Each week, we will have a digital call to action that you can take from coast to coast to show the urgency of this movement and why we must organize. This week, we are invested in telling as many people as we can about the moral march on Washington in June and inviting them to come as well. We would love it if you could click on and quote tweet the tweet above and tell us you will join us on June 18.

In case you’re not on Twitter, you are more than welcome to participate and tag the Poor People’s Campaign on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or any other platform you choose using the image above. We are so glad all of you will be joining us in Washington, D.C. this June, and being willing to help us bring as many people as possible in order to show the strength of our movement.

Be on the lookout for our Digital Drum Beat email each week to stay up to date on all the ways we can use social media to amplify our message and keep folks excited as the summer continues.

We're heading to Philadelphia on Monday, April 25 for the next stop in the June 18 Mobilization Tour! Make sure to spread the word in your networks and tune in on Monday at 5pm ET as we keep building towards June 18 in DC.

Forward together, not one step back!

Rev. Dr. William Barber and Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis
