Jennifer would be the only person in the state legislature who’s stood side-by-side with nurses working on the frontlines over these last few years, but that’s not the only way Jennifer’s election will be historic: 

Jennifer will be the FIRST openly queer Black person elected to represent the Golden State in the legislature. 2022 is the year we make history.

Jennifer is a corporate-free candidate running to change things in California and around this country. She stepped up to run because we don’t have time to wait. Our elected officials must act urgently to address the housing crisis, provide healthcare to everyone, and pass a Green New Deal.

Our communities need action now, which is exactly why Jennifer didn’t wait for a convenient moment to run for office. Instead, last summer she challenged a 10-year incumbent and demanded we do better. He dropped out of the race in December and the establishment has lined up behind a new candidate. But whereas her opponents may have the establishment and corporate support, Jennifer has us. 

Together, we’ll make change in California and all across the country.
