Big news to share, John: my team and I recently traveled to Mexico City to join our local partner YAAJ México for Trans Day of Visibility! We also coordinated with our partners at the Global Equality Caucus for their launch event in Mexico City, moderating panels on LBT women in politics (picture below!). Read about the historic firsts we achieved on this trip, our future work in México and check out photos here! [[link removed]]

As you'll read, we made the most of this trip by building community with our local partners and activists, and strengthening our network of out LGBTQ elected officials, public servants and leaders. As a trans Mexican, it was an honor be present as the trans flag was brought onto the floor of Congress while in session, the first time a flag other than the Mexican flag graced the body. It was covered with signatures and notes from allies committed to ending violence against trans people.

So what’s next for Victory Institute in México? Great question! We're working to create in-person leadership and political participation trainings in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Yucatan this year. This wonderful opportunity is the perfect lay up for our launch of the 6th LGBTQ+ Leaders of the Americas and the Caribbean Conference in Mexico City July 2023!
But we can't do any of this work without the support of amazing partners like you. But as we work to expand our trainings and move into new countries, we need supporters like you standing with us! If you're able to make a donation today to keep our global movement growing strong, please do so here. [[link removed]]
