We reached out to you earlier this week with a reminder that we cannot afford to get complacent in this race – and this happened:

Today, our Republican opponent became the first person in the race to put ads up on TV. She has already poured $500,000 into her own campaign and says that she’ll loan herself “whatever amount is necessary to make this a competitive race.”

I’ll be direct with you – this is going to be a tough race. We’re facing opponents with deep pockets and Super PACs, and we know the Republican Governors Association is targeting Rhode Island this year. Can Governor McKee count on your support to help power our campaign to victory?

Here’s the bottom line: We can win this race and keep Rhode Island under Democratic leadership, but it’s critical that we step up our fundraising.

When folks meet Governor McKee, get to know him, and learn about his significant accomplishments over his first year in office, they join our team – I see it every day on the campaign trail.
