Arizona has become the latest state to ban cruel cages for hens and ensure that eggs produced or sold in the state are cage-free. Thanks to animal advocates in the state, millions of chickens laying eggs for the Arizona marketplace each year will be spared the pain and suffering of life in a tiny cage.

After hearing from scores of advocates in the state, the Arizona Governor's Regulatory Review Council voted unanimously in favor of the regulations. The ratio of supportive to opposing public comments was 17 to one.
