Marijuana arrests have created vast disparities in our criminal justice system, generated an unnecessary burden on taxpayers, and diverted law enforcement officers’ time and attention away from violent crime. It’s time to stop the insanity and legalize.
This is a racial justice issue—far too many of the consequences are born by Black men, far too many of the benefits are reaped by multinational corporations and their white male owners and stockholders.
