Today – on the anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting – I am so proud to have earned the Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Distinction. This is a profoundly important grassroots organization that has made so much progress in the struggle to end gun violence in our communities.

When I’m Governor of Florida, I know Moms Demand Action will be an invaluable partner as we strive to build a safer state. Now more than ever, Florida needs a Governor who seeks to pass common sense gun reform.

I’m a mother to a daughter in public school.

As we continue to see mass shootings across the United States, I can’t help but be worried for my daughter’s future. We need to be doing everything in our power to ensure our kids inherit a safer world than the one we live in today.
