Republican Governors Urge Reversal of Biden Charter School Policy
Per National Review:
A group of 18 Republican governors sent a letter to Secretary of
Education Miguel Cardona this week expressing their opposition to a new
proposal that would force charter schools to demonstrate "sufficient
demand" in order to obtain federal funding. According to the letter: "By
focusing on the number of seats, rather than the number of
'high-quality' seats, the new standard fails to consider that a
driving force in a parent's decision is the desire for their child to
attend a school that meets their child's unique needs."
Inflation Continues to Skyrocket
Per USA Today:
Inflation rose at its fastest pace in 40 years this March, with consumer
prices jumping an eye-opening 8.5%. Increasing gasoline prices accounted
for more than half of the overall rise in costs, with prices rising
18.3% thanks to President Biden's energy policies and the ongoing war
in Ukraine.
Border Patrol Encounters Migrants on Terror Watchlist
Per The Daily Wire:
U.S. Border Patrol officers stopped at least 23 individuals who are
included on the national terror watchlist at the southern border last
year, according to Customs and Border Protection. House Minority Leader
Kevin McCarthy: "If Border Patrol stopped 23 people on the terrorist
watchlist last year, that begs the question: Who are we not catching?"
