The first fundraising reports of the election year for candidates across the country, on both sides of the aisle, have just become public with the FEC. Since we know that Ryan Zinke is a corrupt politician who has been trying to trick voters in our state, we took a close look at his fundraising report.
We found that Zinke accepted nearly 100 donations from people who list their occupation as “CEO,” including donations from the oil and gas industry. Zinke also accepts donations from dark money Super PACs and other committees — meaning we have NO IDEA what specific donors have backed these contributions. This dark money is the number one source of corruption in our political system today.
If Ryan Zinke makes it to Congress, we know he will be listening to these mega-donors and his votes in the House will most certainly be influenced by their demands. We can’t let that happen.

Zinke’s fundraising report isn’t the only one we looked at. We also looked at our own! Tom is a firm believer that we must get dark money out of politics in order to rebuild trust and stability in our politics.
