OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) Daily Report 278/2019 issued on 23 November 2019

Based on information from the Monitoring Teams as of 19:30, 22 November 2019. All times are in Eastern European Time.

Summary

  • Compared with the previous reporting period, the SMM recorded fewer ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and more in Luhansk region.
  • The SMM continued to monitor the situation in disengagement areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske.
  • The Mission observed a weapon in violation of the withdrawal lines in a non-government-controlled area of Donetsk region.
  • The SMM continued to facilitate repairs to and the operation of critical civilian infrastructure on both sides of the contact line.
  • The SMM monitored public gatherings commemorating November 2013 events at Maidan.
  • Restrictions of the SMM’s freedom of movement continued, including at checkpoints near non-government-controlled Sosnivske, Zaichenko, Starolaspa and Bezimenne.
