John --
With the Ohio primary rapidly approaching, I want to take a minute to reintroduce myself, and tell you some things you might not know about me and why I'm running.
This community has been my home forever. I was born and raised right here in Lima, up in the corner of Northwest Ohio. I graduated from the Lima Bath School District with the Class of 1985. My daughter goes to the same public schools I attended when I was young.
I know the people of this town. They raised me, and my success is their success. I also know that it hasn't come without hardship.
Our little corner of Ohio has been hit hard — by decades of disinvestment, by the 2008 economic collapse, by the coronavirus pandemic.
I know this firsthand. In 2008, I lost my job as a forklift operator and my health insurance along with it. My daughter and I moved into an 8 x 10-foot room with all of our worldly possessions.
I know the challenges my friends and neighbors face because I've been there myself. I think it's time that working-class Ohioans had a real voice in Washington — someone who knows our values, our problems, and our communities.
That's why I'm running, friend. I'm going to Washington to fight for you. Will you help me get there and defeat Jim Jordan?
