Friends, it’s time for our state to model what a humane, progressive criminal justice system looks like.

Maryland has felt the crippling effects of the “War on Drugs” for far too long. Families have been torn apart by laws and policies that have disproportionately impacted communities of color for decades. Black Americans are four times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession than white Americans despite having the same rates of usage.

I’ve testified in the Maryland House Judiciary Committee in support of bills to legalize cannabis in Maryland. I also sponsored the MORE Act in Congress to legalize cannabis nationally and create a fund to support small, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses entering the adult-use cannabis industry. We must ensure that the communities that have been most negatively impacted by the outdated marijuana laws see the economic benefits of the new policies.

If you’re ready to make Maryland a beacon for progress, can you donate $4.20 to my campaign today so I can create an equity-focused justice system as your next Attorney General? [[link removed]]

Two-thirds of Marylanders favor the legalization of cannabis. It is time for our state to catch up with the other states that have already taken steps to reverse the failed “War on Drugs” while opening up critical revenue streams for underserved communities, education programs, and health care services. Join me in supporting the full legalization of cannabis across Maryland to advance equity within our justice system. [[link removed]]
