Hey there —
It’s officially Spring! The days are getting longer, the leaves are getting greener, and we’re now in the heart of election season. The California primary is in less than two months – I’ll need to reach tens of thousands of new voters for the very first time before then.
From San Diego to Washington DC, I've been working hard to represent our district and stand up for our values. I look forward to continuing to make progress for all of our communities.
Below you’ll find information on what’s been happening in Congress and in San Diego. You can also follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to get our most timely updates. Thank you for everything you’ve done to support my campaign. So much of this work could not be done without you.
All my best,
— Scott
Standing Up for What’s Right
Scott’s committed to standing up for all of us in Congress. From climate action and reproductive rights to gun violence prevention and LGBTQ+ equality – Scott is leading the fight for progress.
Grassroots organizations know that Scott is the right leader for San Diego. That’s why he was endorsed by the California Democratic Party, the League of Conservation Voters, and Planned Parenthood. And Scott was recognized as a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate and received a 100% scorecard from Equality California!

Clean Manufacturing
ICYMI: The Biden administration recently announced bold actions to boost clean manufacturing and strengthen American efforts to combat the climate crisis – including the implementation of Scott’s USEIT Act!
These actions will grow our economy, create good-paying American jobs, lower prices for working families, boost U.S. competitiveness on the global stage, and advance climate action and environmental justice. This includes the USEIT Act, which promotes the research and development of carbon capture and storage technologies.
Lowering the Cost of Insulin
The House passed the Affordable Insulin Now Act – a critical piece of legislation that Scott was proud to co-sponsor. It will cap out-of-pocket costs for insulin at $35 per month, ensuring affordable access to this life-saving medication. This bill was modeled after provisions he helped negotiate in the Build Back Better Act, and it’s a solid first step toward lowering all prescription drugs prices. Insulin is needed by more than 37 million Americans with diabetes – that’s why Scott pushed hard for this bill’s passage.

STANDUP Act
Scott’s STANDUP Act has passed both chambers of Congress and was signed into law by President Biden! This critical piece of legislation will provide schools with evidence-based suicide prevention and awareness training to help students and educators identify warning signs and intervene when students are at risk of harming themselves or others. We’ve seen an alarming rise in mental health challenges among our students – that’s why Scott is so focused on keeping all of our students safe.

MORE Act
The House passed the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act. This legislation will reform outdated laws by decriminalizing marijuana at the federal level and expunging all non-violent federal marijuana criminal offenses from an individual’s record. If signed into law, this bill will be a step toward righting the wrongs of this country’s war on drugs, and will remove barriers to studying the safety and efficacy of cannabis – including research being done at UC San Diego’s Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research.

History Made on the Supreme Court
Scott was thrilled to see Ketanji Brown Jackson make history as the first Black woman and the first public defender confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court. This is a long-overdue milestone for the Court, and we look forward to everything Justice Jackson will surely accomplish for our democracy.

Advocating for San Diego Priorities
Scott led San Diego’s congressional delegation in a series of events held by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce in DC. They discussed our top priorities like strengthening our local economy and investing in our infrastructure.
Scott also met with staff from the San Diego County Water Authority to discuss California’s drought and how we can maintain our water supply. He’s committed to ensuring our communities have access to clean water no matter the environmental conditions.
