Team,

Twenty-three years ago today, a school shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado claimed the lives of thirteen students and teachers and injured dozens of others.

I remember the day clearly. I was in high school myself, and this type of violence on school grounds seemed unimaginable at the time. Unfortunately in the years since, acts of gun violence have skyrocketed.

And it's not just on school campuses where we're seeing these tragedies take place. From places of worship and grocery stores to nightclubs and concerts – no place is safe from the threat of gun violence.

We can't wait any longer to take action on the gun violence epidemic.

As State Treasurer, I've been working to restrict sales and purchases of firearm kits, components, and accessories used to assemble undetectable "ghost guns." And in Congress, I'll continue fighting to end gun violence with the same common-sense approach that I've taken as Treasurer and work to ensure legislation is signed into law that keeps our communities safe from gun violence.

If you agree it's long past time we took action to end gun violence, add your name now to join me in the fight for common-sense gun reform legislation >>

Thank you,
