John,

Amid the global energy crisis triggered by Putin’s illegal war, it is clear that we must find new ways to meet the energy needs of Americans. Instead of focusing on long-term, sustainable solutions for the environment, however, the Biden administration is doubling back on fossil fuels.

On Friday, the Department of the Interior announced that it would resume selling leases for new oil and gas drilling on public lands. This week, it plans to auction off leases to drill on 145,000 acres of public lands in nine states.

Team, this is unacceptable. The only long-term solution that guarantees we can meet our energy needs while preserving our public lands is shifting away from fossil fuels towards renewable energy. That’s why our SEEC Members are fighting for sustainability policies in Congress. Can you chip in now to support their work? [[link removed]]

DONATE [[link removed]]It is crucial to move away from fossil fuels at every opportunity, particularly when it pertains to our public lands. We understand that Russia’s invasion is forcing the administration to look for ways to mitigate the pain consumers are feeling at the gas pump, but what will we do when the next crisis occurs? This move is simply a bandaid for a much larger problem.

The only way to guarantee our national security in the wake of another global energy crisis is to pivot away from fossil fuels and embrace clean energy.

SEEC Members are committed to finding alternative energy solutions that protect both American consumers AND our public lands. Can you make a donation to support them as they hold the Biden administration accountable? [[link removed]]
