Oswego Annexes Fox Bluff Resort Prop??erty

Major makeover to longstanding campground paves the way for cottages and glamping along Fox River

At its April 19 meeting, Oswego?s Village Board voted to annex the property that is home to the new Fox Bluff Vacation Cottage and RV Resort, formerly known as Hide-A-Way Lakes. The property has undergone significant rehabilitation since it was purchased in December 2020.

Located at 8045 Van Emmon Road, the land was previously denoted as unincorporated Kendall County.

Oswego will benefit from the revenue the property generates, including property, sales and hotel/motel taxes. ?There?s already been a huge transformation at Fox Bluff and we?re looking forward to having this upcoming luxury campground destination in our own backyard,? said Village President Troy Parlier. ?With the projected tax revenues and travelers stopping at Oswego businesses, it?s a win-win.???

Fox Bluff owner Lance Beatch has already radically improved the site and been busy repositioning the property to create a premier recreation destination. The common area buildings have been updated and new fishing piers, a playground and a sports court have been added. In the coming weeks a resort-style pool with cabanas will be installed and sites will be continuously upgraded.

The property has 600 full- hook up sites with over 100 waterfront sites on the Fox River, Morgan Creek and multiple spring-fed ponds. All RV sites include water, sewer and electric connections, and guest RVs are required to be less than 10 years old.

Beatch reports that the clean-up of the property has been exhausting but successful. Over 225 RV trailers that were abandoned have been removed and all the sites have been cleared of debris and repositioned.

?Fox Bluff has always been a naturally beautiful place with miles of water frontage and soaring trees, said Beatch. As we continue to reposition and upgrade the property, it will become one of the largest, best located and finest vacation cottage and RV resorts in North America. We?re committed to creating a safe, upscale destination for families and friends.??

The resort is currently taking RV reservations for the summer season and plans to roll out vacation cottage rentals in the coming months. Upscale glamping tents and other unique rental units with views of the multiple water features are also in the works. For reservations or tours, contact Fox Bluff at (630) 553-6323.
