From my first day in Congress, I've worked with my colleagues in the Democratic majority to tackle the issues Kansas families talk about at the kitchen table each night. And no issue has been more front of mind for folks I've talked with in the Third District than health care.

Just this week, I introduced legislation to help prevent surprise medical bills due to out-of-date insurance directories. Making sure patients have accurate information about their health care so they don't receive unexpected bills is something both Democrats and Republicans agree on!

I also recently signed onto a bill that would finally give Medicare the power to negotiate with drug companies for lower prices for all Americans. This transformational legislation is just one of many bills Democrats are fighting for – and a reminder of what's at stake in 2020.
