I know you are used to hearing me talk about November, but next month, Delaware voters will head to the polls to vote for members of their local school board. Make your plan to vote on May 10th here!
While all of our school board elections in Delaware are nonpartisan, it’s critical that we learn about the candidates running and make our voices heard in these important elections.
All politics is local, and our schools are relying on us to elect competent, pro-public education leaders to the school board. In the last two years, we've seen school board meetings derailed by partisan politics and national narratives that have little to do with educating our children, and everything to do with political agenda-setting at their expense.
From banning books that mention race and the LGBTQ community to overhauling curriculum and rewriting history, conservatives across the country are launching attacks on our public schools, and we are not immune in Delaware. Please, make a plan to get out and vote; your local schools and children are counting on your voice. See you at the polls! Travis Executive Director, DDP |
