There is exactly 1 week until our pre-primary FEC deadline — likely the last one until we find out which Republican we’ll face in November.

After this deadline, we are required to report our numbers publicly, and the reality is how we do just got so much more important. Not only do we have to keep our first ad on the air, but now, we have to prove we can compete with the more than $40 million GOP super PACs have pledged to spend against us so far.

Right now, multiple polls have shown this race in the margin of error. That’s no surprise in a purple state like this. My race for Chief Justice of North Carolina came down to just 401 votes.

So I’m well aware that winning this campaign will not be easy, but the grassroots enthusiasm and support we’ve seen gives me hope and is a clear reminder that we have what it takes to pull off this historic victory.

But it will require all of us to continue living the values in this campaign that my mother taught me — to work hard, keep the faith, and serve others. So I need you with us.
