John – Elaine is an outspoken advocate for decriminalizing marijuana at the federal level and making it more easily accessible for medicinal purposes.

The Senate plans to introduce the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act this spring, which would remove cannabis from the controlled substances list, forgive non-violent cannabis-related offenses, and make it accessible and legal for veterans across the nation.

A majority of Americans agree that cannabis should be legalized for medicinal or recreational purposes, but our federal legislation is lagging decades behind popular opinion.

Our current regulations ignore evidence that cannabis can help with myriad medical issues, including veterans coming home with PTSD.
