Many Americans turn to leafy greens for a healthy dose of essential vitamins and antioxidants, but they may be unknowingly getting a side of Dacthal, a cancer-linked pesticide. EWG scientists found cancer-linked Dacthal on nearly 60 percent of kale samples! Even after thoroughly washing, 86 percent of kale and other leafy greens contained questionable levels of toxic pesticides. Learn more below:

EWG is calling on the Environmental Protection Agency to immediately ban Dacthal. This cancer-linked pesticide was already banned by the European Union back in 2009, but the EPA has failed to take action. We shouldn’t have to worry about cancer-linked chemicals contaminating leafy greens. Join EWG and urge the EPA to BAN Dacthal today!

Strawberries are once again at the top of this year's Dirty Dozen list, taking first place for produce with the highest levels of pesticide residues. Ninety-nine percent of strawberries have pesticide residues, and we found up to 22 different pesticides on a single strawberry! Learn more about conventional strawberries below:

Pesticides on strawberries include: Carbendazim: Hormone disruptor found on 16 percent of strawberries, and Bifenthrin: Possible carcinogen found on 29 percent of strawberries. 99 percent of strawberries have pesticide residues, and up to 22 different pesticides can be found on a single strawberry sample.

Bee-killing neonic pesticides were found on more than 15 percent of non-organic produce samples. These pesticides were banned in the EU in 2018 because of their harm to pollinators. Meanwhile American bumble bee populations have plummeted while Big Ag continues to dump millions of pounds of neonics on American farmland each year. Learn more below:
