Friend: As you may have seen in the news, refugees from Ukraine continue to flee violence at home every day. The United Nations estimates that more than four million people have fled Ukraine since the start of the war.
But there are other active crises you may not have seen in the headlines:
In Yemen, thousands of displaced people fleeing active conflict are struggling to survive without food, adequate shelter, or access to health care.
In South Sudan, more than 800,000 displaced people are at increased risk of malaria and malnutrition following a record flood year.
In Bangladesh, hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees continue to live in overcrowded camps with no clear plan to return home.
The refugee crisis is a global crisis, Friend. There are now 82 million forcibly displaced people around the world—more than at any time in modern history. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is going wherever the needs are greatest to help provide lifesaving medical humanitarian aid for people on the move.
Our recurring donors' steadfast commitment enables us to plan ahead and mobilize quickly, bringing vital care where it is needed most. Their support makes our work possible.
