PLANNED PARENTHOOD ACTION FUND
It makes me sick how often I've had to write to you this year with news about another devastating blow to abortion access. That's why I'm thrilled to share a sliver of good news today:

Thanks to the hard work of organizers and activists in Nebraska, South Carolina, Georgia, Iowa, and Minnesota, and the support of allied lawmakers, abortion bans in those states are stalled or stopped — for now.

Keep the fight to protect abortion access strong. Make a gift to Planned Parenthood Action Fund today.

Stopping these bans was by no means a foregone conclusion. It took time, effort, money, protests, media attention, and pure grit.

Unfortunately, activists and organizers are still fighting bans that could pass in other states. States like Missouri, where lawmakers are pushing more than seven bills that restrict access to abortion.

And that's on top of the work we're doing to hold lawmakers accountable in states like Texas, Florida, Idaho, Oklahoma, and Kentucky, who've recently passed some of the most egregious abortion bans in the history of this country. Kentucky's new law, passed over Governor Beshear's veto, prohibits abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy, limits access to medication abortion, further complicates access to abortion for minors, and imposes a series of restrictions that, together, make it impossible for clinics to continue providing abortion care at all.

Since President Trump's appointment of Justice Barrett, lawmakers who oppose our right to abortion have worked overtime to pass laws that ignore almost 50 years of Supreme Court precedent and undermine our fundamental rights.

Now that these politicians expect a majority of the Supreme Court to let Mississippi's 15-week abortion ban stand in just a few short months, they’re rushing to pass whatever bans they can now. They have been emboldened by the very real possibility that Roe v. Wade will be overturned or unraveled.

This means, right now, we're in a fight to keep abortion accessible for as many people in this country as we possibly can. And that's why we really need your support today.

Please, pitch in whatever you can to help keep beating back these bans, hold lawmakers accountable, and protect people's access to all forms of sexual and reproductive health care.

The fewer abortion bans we have to fight to undo, regardless of what the Supreme Court does in the next few months, the more time and energy we can spend working to expand access to sexual and reproductive health care. I want to do that work, and I know you do, too, but right now we have to stay focused on stopping every attack we can.

Your gift today will be a crucial part of our success.

In solidarity,
