Can I take a second to explain why I'm about to ask you to donate towards my Iowa ad budget?

Pete Buttigieg is surging in the polls in Iowa, and now we're tied for third place. That's terrible news closing in on 70 days until the Iowa Caucus.

But there's a reason that has less to do with candidate support: Pete and the other candidates are outspending us on ads in Iowa, and we're going to keep falling behind if we don't ramp up our ad budget to get Joe's message in front of more Iowans.

Keeping our ads on the air is expensive, and my budget is almost completely gone. So we set a special goal of $350,000 by midnight tomorrow to bolster our Iowa ad program. Right now we're $200,000 away. As soon as we meet this goal, I can greenlight the next set of ads.

We have organizers on the ground going door to door talking to voters, and when we run ads online and on TV it helps them to have better conversations and persuade more voters.

Every set of eyes or ears on our ads is one more potential vote for Joe Biden in the Iowa Caucus, and in a race this close, we need as many eyes on us as possible.

That's why we set this new goal. We can't continue to be outspent by Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren and hope to beat them in the Caucus. We have to increase our ad budget to compete.
