…Really?

Just a couple of hours before we were to be gaveled into this week’s Special Session, Governor DeSantis announced that he was going to abolish Reedy Creek–aka, Disney World.

This last-minute attack deprived 100,000 of Disney's employees the ability to go to Tallahassee to fight for their jobs.

Translation: Governor DeSantis has turned this week’s Special Legislative Session into a full-scale attack on Walt Disney World and Mickey Mouse. This isn't a joke. This is 2022 and the modern day Republican Party.

On any given day, hundreds of thousands of Floridians make Disney World larger than most cities in Florida. They have their own fire stations, police forces, full-fledged hospitals. And not to mention the fact that Disney is Florida’s biggest economic driver and job supplier in the state. Why shouldn't they be governed like the city they are?

Plain and simple, this is a Florida GOP attack on a symbol and institution of Florida and it’s absurd. And most unsettlingly–it begs the question, who’s next?

Please stay in this fight with us.
