They’re facing increased attacks for defending our rights

John,

Florida ended its legislative session with extreme assaults on the rights of freethinking individuals like yourself.

Abortion? Banned after 15-weeks, with ZERO exceptions for rape, incest, or human trafficking.

Gay or trans? Your identity is now a taboo topic, not to be discussed in schools.

Seeking asylum? Florida just made it easier to detain and deport you.

Center for Freethought Equality-backed candidates campaigned valiantly against these laws and drew national attention to Governor DeSantis’ radical agenda. It’s only with your support that we can expand these kinds of candidates to fight back against the ugly, racist, and homophobic laws supported by White Christian Nationalist candidates.

Contribute even just $10 and help defend humanist and atheist candidates this year, so that we can fight back against the alarming assaults on our fundamental rights.

When our humanist allies in the Florida legislature, Anna Eskamani, and Carlos Guillermo Smith, spoke out against the anti-LGBTQ bill, the governor’s press secretary attacked. She tweeted that anyone opposing the “Don’t Say Gay” bill is “probably a groomer or at least you don’t denounce grooming of 4-8 year-old children”.

These kinds of unhinged and disgusting attacks that our allies now face should be a calling to all of us.

The soul of our democracy is on the line this year. Whether we can expand the number of humanist champions like Eskamani and Smith who will defend our rights depends on what people like you do today.

I’m asking you today to help us defend and expand the number of humanist champions who are vigorously campaigning for sane, humane, and secular policies based on science and reason, not religious fervor.

Contribute $10, $15, or even $25 and help the Center for Freethought Equality defend atheists and humanists in conservative states who are holding back extreme assaults on our rights.

Thanks as always for your support.
