Folks, I wanted to take a moment to show you exactly who I am.
My name is Terri Sewell. I’m a 3rd generation Selmian. My family taught me the importance of public service. And I’ve taken on the fight to run for re-election in Alabama’s only Democratic district because I know that real progress starts with leaders who are unafraid to fight for what’s right. I want to tell you more about why this race is so important to me, but first I have to ask: will you chip in $10 or anything you can to my campaign for Congress?

I have my mother to thank for the urgency I feel to stand up for my community and fight for our needs. As the first Black woman elected to the Selma City Council, she stood firm in the face of opposition to get the resources we needed to thrive. I keep her spirit with me in the halls of Congress as I work to secure our future.
The history of this district is in my blood. All around are constant reminders of the sacrifices those foot soldiers of the Civil Rights Movement made to ensure the rights we enjoy today. And as old battles become new again, I remember those sacrifices as I fight my hardest to keep our rights secure.
This fight won’t be easily won. But folks, I know that extraordinary things can happen when ordinary people come together.
Right now, we are at a major turning point in our history. Whether we’ll be able to secure our right to vote, protect reproductive freedom, or even properly fund public education systems will depend on the work we’re willing to put in right now. And that work starts with electing leaders who are willing to show us who they are and fight alongside us.
I’m ready to keep up the work that needs to be done in Congress to secure our future. But I can’t do it without your support. Will you chip in anything you can right now so that I can stay in Congress and work toward a brighter future?

Terri Sewell
