Over the last four years, anti-LGBTQ groups have raised insane amounts of money — over $110 million, as estimated by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The legalization of same-sex marriage in 2016 kickstarted a massive fundraising effort by homophobic organizations, one that has only gotten stronger.

Now, Republican lawmakers across the country are taking the opportunity to pass anti-LGBTQ bills, knowing they have the support of these organizations.
