Hi John,

Last May I ran what is now called the Boundary Waters Traverse - 110 miles of trail through the heart of the Boundary Waters that linked the Border Route Trail and the Kekekabic Trail. After more than 38 hours of continuous running, I was the first person to have ever recorded completing this journey in one run!

A film crew was out capturing and documenting my run and our film, The Boundary Waters Traverse has been nominated for a People’s Choice award for the 2022 Webby’s.

Winning the People’s Choice award would for this film would continue to elevate this threat, put us on an international stage and bring more people into the fight to protect our Wilderness for all generations to come.
Running through canoe country like this was a project designed to bring awareness of the threat our Boundary Waters faces to a new audience. Trail runners depend on large swaths of projected landscapes to pursue our (what some might call “insane”) passions. The Boundary Waters, while world renowned for and best known as a paddlers paradise, also offers amazing hiking - and trail running opportunities! Through this type of adventure advocacy, we have reached an entirely new audience of people who want to protect the Boundary Waters for all generations to come.
