Dear John,
I feel really good about where we are in this campaign.
At 60,000 people and growing, we’ve got the biggest volunteer organizing team in the country right now. And these volunteers are already at the doors of Texas voters, building relationships and connecting with those who will decide the outcome of this election.
Our digital team is leveraging our social media presence to reach voters — especially young voters — with the messages that give them a reason to care about and vote in this election. It’s also been a powerful recruitment tool to bring in new volunteers.
And Governor Abbott continues to make the case for why he can’t be trusted with another term in office. Whether it’s the grid, the attacks on teachers, the failure to fix Child Protective Services, or the outright banning of reproductive healthcare freedom in Texas, he’s given Texas voters — Republicans as well as Democrats — plenty of reasons to vote for change.
The polls are starting to show it as well. A recent one has us within just two points — and within the margin of error — of Abbott.
The only place where I know we could be doing better is fundraising.
While we’ve kept pace with Abbott on a day to day basis, matching his corporate donors with grassroots support, we started this race more than $50 million behind. I really need us to redouble our commitment to meeting the very ambitious fundraising goals we’ve set if we’re going to have the resources to win.
As we continue organizing everywhere, I hope that you’ll consider splitting a donation between our campaign and my friend Adam Schiff’s efforts to hold the House. I need to make sure that we maximize the momentum we have, the progress we’re making and this extraordinary chance before us to win.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your split donation to Beto O’Rourke and Adam Schiff will go through immediately:
Thank you,
Beto
