Friend, in a moment, I’m going to ask you to donate to my campaign. I know we reach out for your support often -- and trust me, we know that you can’t give every single time we ask. But, we have a huge goal to hit in the next week -- and I don’t think we’ll get there without your help.
As I write to you, I’m still in awe of what we accomplished in these past few days. As soon as I walked backstage from Wednesday night’s debate, my team told me that donations were coming in at a record pace.
It wasn’t long before we would receive donations from all 50 states as well as D.C. and Puerto Rico. That’s not all: We raised more money online in that first hour after I had left the stage than we had raised in our best online fundraising day of the entire campaign.
Since then, we officially reached the DNC donor threshold with over 200,000 individual donors for the December debate -- a truly amazing accomplishment for an underdog campaign like ours. I’m so thankful to this team for helping hit this milestone.
At a critical moment in our campaign, tens of thousands of people stepped up -- many of whom donated for the very first time. When we looked at the numbers yesterday morning, it turns out we had raised $770,000 in the span of just two days!
Now, I want to see if we can make it all the way to one-and-a-half million dollars before we close the books on this month. That’s right. $1,500,000 by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 30th.
It won’t be easy. November can be a very difficult month for fundraising. But after this week, I have all the faith in the world that this team can pull together to reach this ambitious goal. And in the spirit of radical transparency, we’ll be keeping you updated on our progress along the way.
