Yang Gang --
In 2016, only 56% of the U.S. voting-age population exercised their right to vote. That’s paltry compared to 87.2% in Belgium, 82.6% in Sweden, and 69.1% in Germany. Even Greece, Estonia, and Slovakia trounce the U.S. in terms of voter turnout.
We effectively strip millions of Americans of their right to vote, put election days in the middle of the workweek, and, in several states, work overtime to purge millions of registered voters from the rolls.
Here's what Andrew would do to immediately increase voter participation and access to the ballot box:
- Require all states to offer early voting and vote by mail
- Make Election Day a holiday
- Pass automatic and same day voter registration
If you’re with Andrew on doing everything we can to increase voter participation and remove the barriers that keep turnout so low, add your name to his petition and support Andrew’s Voting Rights Proposal.
Many of the big, structural problems we face as a country and a democracy require massive effort and large-scale changes. This is the rare occasion where there are simple solutions to dramatically improve and strengthen our democracy.
As president, Andrew will get it done.
