Yesterday was Tax Day, and it’s important to remember something: you'll
likely be paying more in taxes than DOZENS of major corporations.
Working families are struggling to afford groceries, health care, and rent
as inflation and corporate greed rise. Meanwhile, many billionaires and
corporations are paying a lower income tax rate than teachers, nurses,
janitors, and firefighters. Some corporations aren’t paying any income
taxes at all. This is not OK. It cannot go on any longer.
Just look at this headline from The Guardian:

income on taxes, investigation reveals
And CNBC reports that, “At least 55 of the largest corporations in America
paid no federal corporate income taxes on their 2020 profits."
It’s
simple: Tax the rich. Tax corporations. Invest in our communities.
That’s why I introduced the Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act with Senator
Elizabeth Warren. The bill would narrow the racial wealth gap, help level
the economic playing field in this country, and ensure that the wealthiest
finally begin to pay their fair share. It’ll do all of this while
investing trillions of dollars into our communities.
I’m fighting alongside Senator Warren and President Biden to fix the
broken tax system. We must tax the rich and corporations.

only do this with a grassroots movement behind us — as corporate CEOs send
their lobbyists and smear campaigns to block change.

I don’t take a cent of corporate PAC money because I know this is a fight
between the people and corporate greed. We can enact bold, transformative
change together.
In solidarity,
