This year, RiseOut has worked hard to advance LGBTQ-affirming legislation with a petition, text banking events, and more. Now the work moves to the next level with an advocacy day for dedicated individuals like you! On April 26, our partner Equality New York will convene hundreds of activists for a day of panels, workshops, visits with elected officials, and coalition-building.

This is your chance to connect directly with lawmakers, advocates, and fellow community members to make progress on passing much-needed policies that would enact comprehensive sex education, improved living conditions for incarcerated TGNCNB people, and more. The day’s activities will take place in a hybrid in-person and virtual format. Can’t wait to see you there!

Break fast with an in-person Iftar dinner during the holy month of Ramadan, hosted at The Center in partnership with organizations serving the LGBTQ Muslim community.

In this brand-new video, learn about current and former BIPOC RiseOut fellows’ advocacy philosophies and their exciting projects that the Center's Activist-in-Residence fellowship makes possible. Get to know them and the ways in which they build equity and opportunity for LGBTQ New Yorkers by encouraging mental health awareness, convening community members to tell their stories, and advocating for safe spaces for all.   

At their last meeting, our intrepid RiseOut Action Team members texted over 58,000 individuals to secure signatures on our petition to pass laws that will protect and affirm LGBTQ and all marginalized New Yorkers. You can further support their efforts by making a contribution to The Center today.
