Friend, we at GLAAD are so proud of Prince & Knight, the children’s book we helped publish because it tells a heartwarming story of a prince and a knight who work together to battle a dragon -- and fall in love along the way. 

But now the Upshur County Public Library in West Virginia has pulled Prince & Knight off its shelves. Soon, they could decide whether to ban it permanently. 

The Upshur County library board is teaching kids that there’s something bad or wrong about being LGBTQ, but we at GLAAD are fighting back for inclusion, acceptance, and love. Will you help fund our campaign with a donation of $25 right now? <[link removed]>

At a time when so many state legislatures -- and even the White House -- are attacking the rights of LGBTQ Americans, it’s more important than ever for us to take action to shape the national narrative around inclusion and acceptance for LGBTQ people. Because of GLAAD’s media campaign and the work of LGBTQ advocates in West Virginia, the controversy in Upshur County has received news attention all over America, and even internationally But we need to keep up the pressure if we want to win this fight -- and send a signal to other library boards across America that if they try to ban LGBTQ children’s books, we will fight back. And we will win.
