Good morning –

Gov. Greg Abbott recently announced [[link removed]] that Texas taxpayers will pick up the tab to send illegal aliens (who volunteer) to Washington, D.C., by plane or bus. This week’s One Click Survey asks what you want done with people who are in Texas illegally.

Here is the Texas Minute for Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

– Michael Quinn Sullivan

Abbott & Phelan To Honor Disgraced Former Speaker Former House Speaker Dennis Bonnen was forced from office following a quid pro quo political arrangement he tried to make (with me) and then lying about it when I reported it. Too bad for Dennis, I recorded [[link removed]] the 2019 meeting.

Once Bonnen’s lies about his dirty politics – and abuse of taxpayer resources – were laid bare, the House Republican Caucus forced him to leave office after just nine months as speaker… and 24 years as a state representative.

But the crony political establishment has been working feverishly to rehabilitate Bonnen’s image. Brandon Waltens reports [[link removed]] Gov. Greg Abbott and current House Speaker Dade Phelan will headline a Brazosport Chamber of Commerce event honoring Bonnen on April 28.

If you go, you should definitely record the event. Asking The Candidates… Is It An Invasion? As Texas prepares for the onslaught of illegal border crossers following the Biden administration’s repeal of Title 42, Texas Scorecard asked all the Republican candidates [[link removed]] in the runoff election for the state legislature if they would support Texas sending illegal border crossers away as invaders under Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution.

Some of the answers might surprise you… But what’s most telling are the candidates (especially the incumbents) who did not [[link removed]] respond. Texas Library Association Will Feature Drag Queens… Of course If you thought librarians focused on the Dewey Decimal System, stocking books, and exploring better ways to “shush!” noisy patrons, you’d be wrong. Now, librarians are social justice warriors for the left.

The Texas Library Association—the largest state library association in the U.S. with more than 6,000 members from taxpayer-funded school and government libraries—is hosting its annual conference next week in Fort Worth. The event will feature adult entertainers headlining TLA’s “After Hours Keynote” and “Drag Queen Story Hour” events. Jacob Asmussen has the story [[link removed]].

TLA’s conference also includes sessions on the promotion of LGBT sexual behaviors at local campuses and how to teach young children leftist “social justice” doctrine.

“Even our youngest students are aware of and affected by social justice issues. Let’s explore the opportunities we can offer in our library to help students become anti-racists, allies, and fluent in the language and ideas of social justice,” reads the TLA program. [[link removed]]

Remember: This conference is being subsidized by your city and school tax dollars. Court In Florida Ends Mask Mandate On Planes, Mass Transit As you no doubt have heard by now… a federal judge in Florida yesterday ruled against the imposition of mask mandates on planes, trains, and other forms of mass commercial transportation. The judge’s ruling took immediate effect, in a case brought against the Federal Aviation Administration and the Centers for Disease Control. The White House and Transportation Safety Administration immediately announced they would follow the order and cease enforcing the mandates.

Leftwing social media broke down in fits of hysterics – ranging from their sudden fear of flying unmasked to condemnations for a system that allows a single federal judge to override a federal agency. Oh, the irony…

Later today at TexasScorecard.com we’ll have the latest details and reaction from around the Lone Star State. How some thoughts to share for publication? Send your thoughts, along with your full name and city of residence to: [[email protected]]. Dickson: Will Abilene Council Listen To Voters? Abilene taxpayers successfully forced the city council to consider legislation banning abortion within the city limits, but Mark Lee Dickson explains [[link removed]] opposition is coming from council members misrepresenting the law.

Under state law, cities are allowed to ban abortion within their jurisdictions, and 42 have done so successfully. That has not stopped several members of the Abilene City Council, like Kyle McAlister, from falsely claiming otherwise. Quote-Unquote

“The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence.”

– John Adams

Number of the Day

ONE CLICK SURVEY

With illegal aliens pouring across the border, and both the state and federal governments engaged in “catch and release” programs hoping the illegals will appear for court hearings, some have suggested busing the aliens out of state.

Should the illegal aliens be…

Sent voluntarily to D.C. at taxpayer expense [[link removed]]

... or ...

Marched back across the border [[link removed]]
