It’s incredibly encouraging to see the war on drugs – but more importantly, the need for reform – being seriously addressed by presidential candidates. In recent debates, they’ve discussed solutions to the overdose crisis, advocated for equitable marijuana legalization and criminal justice reform and even decriminalizing drug use and possession.

The programming comes at a critical time when the U.S. is seeing a record number of overdose deaths and many harm reduction efforts have remained unnecessarily stalled due to federal policies.
