Our party has been organizing for years to protect voting rights in Cobb County. But this year, the Georgia GOP took their voter suppression tactics to a new level.
During a Cobb County press conference, Republican Ed Setzler hijacked the podium to undermine and silence me and my colleagues who were speaking out against corrupt and racist local redistricting.
Rep. Setzler claims that this redistricting is good for the county and gives residents what they want, but the true reason that he and his colleagues hijacked local redistricting this session is far more nefarious — they are desperate to cling to their power and continue hurting our state with their far-right policies.

Republicans like Ed Setzler won’t stop unless we all step up, stand together, and call out this voter suppression for what it is: institutional racism.
We can’t have fair and free elections while the GOP does everything in their power — from ending early voting on Sundays to gerrymandering diverse districts — to silence our voices.
I believe that every Georgia resident is entitled to democratically elected representation. And as your next Lieutenant Governor, I’ll do everything in my power to set things right, restore voting rights, and ensure that we all receive fair and equal treatment under the law.
