Arizona and the American West are facing a reckoning.

We are already dealing with an unprecedented water crisis as Lake Powell, a massive reservoir that millions of people rely on for water and power, dipped to a critical point last month.

Now, federal officials are warning the escalating water crisis could result in cutting off drinking water for as many as 7,500 residents.

I'm not kidding when I say that here in Arizona, every drop of water is precious.

We must take action to better conserve the water we have, use it more efficiently, and make serious efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions responsible for the climate change driving these shortages.

As your Congresswoman, I will do everything I can to encourage smart investments, and find solutions to ensure we have a safe, reliable water supply for the future.
