Reminder: The Only ‘Summer Body’ You Need Is The Body You Have

The weather’s getting warmer, swimsuits are popping up all over the mall, and you know what that means: a bunch of total nonsense about getting your body “summer ready.” No thanks!

Today Natasha McKee has a manifesto about why she’s letting go of this totally bogus stresser and committing to enjoying life in her body exactly like it is: “I’m finally at a place where I can accept my body the majority of the time, but I spent decades covering up, sweating in long sleeves, and never enjoying myself. And I know I’m not the only one. I’ve watched my mother do it, I’ve watched friends do it. And I’m telling you, it’s time for this to end.” Amen to that.

Taking Away Your Teen’s Phone Isn’t A Magic Trick

Do you threaten to take away your kids’ phones at the drop of a hat? That’s what Katie Bingham-Smith found herself doing — until it stopped working. “It got to the point where I wouldn’t even have to ask for their phones. They would walk up to me and hand it over without a care in the world. It became an automatic response for me and for them. I realized that it was making me a lazy parent.” Here’s what she does instead.
