Hi John,

Welcome to EDF Earth Week, a moment for our members to reflect on our planet and the ways that we can build a vital Earth for everyone. As we celebrate this splendid occasion, we’re asking you — and our network of invaluable advocates — to share your story about our planet and why you want to protect it.

Already we’ve received an outpouring of support as advocates across the nation have answered the call to explain what drives them to fight for a cleaner, safer planet. These stories are vital to our mission, inspiring millions of budding and seasoned activists to raise their voice in defense of our air, water and climate – and we hope that you’ll join us.

Celebrate our planet by sharing your climate story! Let us know: What makes you hopeful? What drives your advocacy? What makes you want to fight for a vital earth for everyone? [link removed]

Storytelling is an incredibly powerful tool that can motivate and mobilize entire communities. That’s why EDF is excited to amplify your message in ways that will educate and inspire climate activists across the globe — all of whom are working to secure a cleaner, greener future. Stories like Anastasia’s have the power to remind us why we need to continue raising our voices for the planet and the generations of people who will rely on it:

“I recognize that we cannot keep overconsuming Earth's resources because it is already negatively impacting humans and all other creatures. But I don't fight for environmental progress just out of doomsday fears. For me, there is joy in being in nature. There is peace in appreciating the sunrise and sitting in my garden surrounded by native plants and lizards and hummingbirds. There is beauty in watching the kids in my own and nearby communities grow up healthy and strong, free of asthma and diabetes, because they have access to clean water and they breathe clean air and they can run around in parks and hike in open spaces.” — Anastasia, CA

Your voice may be the one that encourages another environmentalist to take the next step in their advocacy journey and help us make meaningful progress in the fight against climate change.

Whether you’ve been with us since the first Earth Day, or have only recently found your way to our movement, we want to hear from you. Because your story is a vital element that makes environmental progress possible. [link removed]

Thank you for your leadership,
