COVID-19. Pandemic. Gain-of-function. Coronavirus. Wuhan lab.

Taxpayer, if I never heard those words again for the rest of my life, it would be too soon. And if I had to bet, you probably feel the same way.

Yet I’m writing you today with extreme urgency because I’m TERRIFIED that if we don’t take immediate action, an even deadlier pandemic will soon emerge… and YOU, the American taxpayer, will be to blame.

Exactly two years ago this week, just as COVID-19 began sweeping our nation, White Coat Waste (WCW) Project released an investigation that shocked the world.

We discovered the National Institutes of Health (NIH), under the direction of Dr. Anthony Fauci, was secretly funneling American tax dollars to the Wuhan lab for reckless animal experiments through a shady non-profit called EcoHealth Alliance [PAYOUT #R01AI110964].

Taxpayer, this was no ordinary WCW Project investigation. And these were no ordinary animal experiments.

No, these were GAIN-OF-FUNCTION experiments – incredibly dangerous experiments that involve deliberately making a natural animal virus even more infectious and deadlier to humans.

In fact, from 2014 until 2017, U.S. white coats were banned from conducting gain-of-function experiments because the government believed they were simply too dangerous.

But Dr. Fauci felt he knew better. He believed sending your money to China for reckless animal experiments -- with zero oversight, zero regulation, and zero accountability -- was a good idea.

So Dr. Fauci quietly lifted the gain-of-function ban and began outsourcing his dirty work to the Wuhan lab, home of some of the world’s word animal abusers.

Funded by NIH foreign aid, Wuhan white coats:

• Captured wild coronavirus-infected bats, punched holes in their sensitive wings, and transported them back to the lab.
• Then, they extracted the bats’ deadly coronaviruses…
• Genetically engineered the germs to make them even deadlier…
• And injected these super-charged pathogens into “humanized mice.”

But don’t take my word for it:

And voilà! Animal testing opened the door for airborne transmission and the direct infection of humans… and you paid the bill, Taxpayer.

Taxpayer, just six days after WCW Project launched this historic investigation, the President canceled NIH payout #R01AI110964. He even called it a “tremendous WASTE in the government!”

While we are very proud of this victory, cutting this single grant isn’t enough.

Many scientific experts, including the FBI, and a majority of Americans, now believe COVID-19 was leaked from the Wuhan lab. Recent polling also shows most taxpayers don’t want their money wasted on risky gain-of-function experiments.

But despite all of this, Taxpayer, government white coats are still authorized to waste millions on gain-of-function – including at the Wuhan lab and 28 other labs in China!

This should TERRIFY you, Taxpayer!

Because even if the COVID-19 pandemic didn't originate from a lab leak, other deadly diseases are confirmed to have escaped from animal labs.

The U.S. reported more than 450 accidents from 2015 to 2019 while experimenting with some of the world’s most dangerous viruses – including anthrax, Ebola, plague, deadly strains of avian influenza, and various SARS coronaviruses.

In addition, the original SARS and H1N1 also escaped from animal labs in China and other countries and killed people on an international scale.

The best way to prevent another Wuhan-style pandemic is to end gain-of-function animal experiments… and the first step to doing that is to cut the tax funding!

Super-charging potential pandemic pathogens is NOT a risk worth taking, especially when that risk involves mutilating countless innocent animals on your dime.

Since early 2021, we’ve been calling on Democratic and Republican decision-makers to cut funding for gain-of-function experiments… now, we need your help getting the President to take action.
