John,
In 2010, more than six in 10 Florida voters voted to pass two statewide amendments to prevent legislators from drawing maps to benefit their own party.
Republicans ignored them.
In 2018, three in four Ohio voters supported a ballot measure intended to prevent gerrymandering.
Republicans manipulated the maps anyway.
Also in 2018, a majority of Missouri voters passed a redistricting reform measure.
Two years later, Republicans introduced a ballot initiative that reversed it.
It all shows just how far the GOP will go to keep the maps manipulated – and it shows how hard we have to fight for fairness and reform.
The journey to fair maps isn’t an easy or linear one. We’ve experienced setbacks at the hands of greedy state legislators, disingenuous governors, right-wing dark money groups, and the U.S. Supreme Court. But we’re still here, and we’re making progress – thanks to people like you.
Will you pitch in today to help us keep fighting?
