John —

“If they go through with it, they will be killing an innocent woman.” That’s what Melissa Lucio’s son, Bobby Alvarez, said on CBS Morning News last week when he spoke about his mom’s story.

But right now, Bobby, along with his 10 siblings, is only nine days away from losing his mom. Melissa is currently scheduled to be executed on April 27 for a crime that never occurred — and we’re doing everything we can to stop it.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has the power to stop Melissa’s execution. So we’re asking everyone in the U.S. to get out their phones, and call Gov. Abbott right now and tell him to stop this irreversible injustice from happening: 956-446-2866: [[link removed]]

Melissa’s 2-year-old daughter Mariah tragically died after an accidental fall down a flight of stairs as the family was in the process of moving. It was a horrible accident — not a murder. But Melissa was taken into custody and questioned by police who used coercive tactics. The interrogation went on for more than five hours on the same night of her daughter’s death. Eventually, after hours of being manipulated and intimidated, Melissa said, “I guess I did it,” and made other statements taking responsibility for Mariah’s injuries, mostly just regurgitating the exact words that officers suggested she say.

The State, led by a corrupt prosecutor, took Melissa’s inadvertent statements as a confession to murder, and between that and the misleading evidence presented at her trial, Melissa was wrongly convicted and sentenced to death.

Now, five jurors from the original trial have come out to support Melissa, saying had they had all of the information they do now, they would have made a different decision. And a bipartisan group of over 100 Texas state lawmakers have called on the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles to urge granting Melissa clemency.

John, we have just nine days left to stop Melissa’s execution, so we need all hands on deck. Please, contact Gov. Abbott now and urge him to grant Melissa clemency: 956-446-2866: [[link removed]]
